Last fall, I was requested to photograph one of the project teams for Capital One in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia. The culture of this particular team is a good one: lots of teamwork (which makes the dream work!) to push out different banking products and services, and while they are serious about delivering great results, they know how to have fun, too. Capital One as a whole has a wonderful culture within its walls, and the company really knows how to take care of its associates.
They wanted new portraits to aid in their recruitment efforts as their team was expanding. A cohesive team brand is integral to showcasing your culture and attracting qualified candidates. It’s fantastic when leaders recognize this and want to bring everyone together this way. It is also great internal branding!
For these particular sessions, I used the 85mm (a classic portrait lens) and one off-camera strobe light to make my subjects pop. I love to bring artificial light into headshot sessions because the focus becomes more on you and less on your environment, no matter where you are.
I had a blast photographing them across their two locations in Wilmington, DE and Tyson’s Corner, VA. And as they are my old team, it was just fun to capture their individual personalities this way! Scroll on for some of my favorites from their environmental headshot session.
