Siobhan and I originally “met” back in 2013 when we were both planning our weddings on WeddingWire.com, and since we are both sassy with a great sense of humor, we hit it off immediately and became fast Facebook friends. Fast forward to mid-spring 2015, and we were finally meeting in person for a seafood dinner in Philadelphia that included lots of laughter and certainly not enough time. Siobhan has become a good friend over the last four years and if I had to describe her quickly to someone (like this blog post lol), I’d tell them she’s an amazing teacher that cares deeply for her students, especially the ones who probably have it harder than others; that she’s a dog-lover to the nth degree and her pup, Alfie, is probably the most-loved pooch on this whole, entire planet; that she is passionate about humanity and equality; and she’s a loyal and loving wife to her husband, Evan, who I think is most likely the luckiest guy around.
Speaking of Evan, he is quieter and contemplative, with an air of observing the things going on around him (as seen on his blog, Evservations), and even though I’d briefly met him in 2015, it was really awesome getting to know him better during this shoot and the subsequent time I spent with their families that weekend. Evan is also a dog-lover, as evident in the Instagram he runs for their dog, Alfie. Evan and Siobhan belong together in the absolute best way; I’ve never seen a better match and I can tell that Ev is going to make a fantastic dad to little Baby Koch when he or she gets here.
Did I mention that they aren’t finding out the sex until the baby is born? How do you handle that anticipation, guys?! HOW??
Siobhan and Evan’s Philadelphia baby bump session just gives me life. She was gorgeous in this mustard skirt and the floral crown her mom made for her and everyone who walked by her complimented how beautiful she looked. She even got photobombed by a random Philly local on the street! There were some watery eyes as we walked along the path they took for their wedding photos; these two met and fell in love in Philly, but are now Charlotte transplants who wanted to make sure I incorporated the bits and pieces of their old neighborhood that they loved so much.
I was incredibly honored to be able to do this baby bump session for them, and I can’t wait for little Baby K to be born!
Edit: As I click to publish this article, I’ve received word that Siobhan is in labor and Baby K will be born today! #babykochwatch2017 has begun!
